"I had a good experience there last year. On the way out to Perth a circlip fell off, which was keeping my shifter on. Since Gear Head was near, I stopped in and these guys gave me some mechanics wire and didn’t charge me."

"I showed up at Gear Head Saturday AM with wheels and new tires for installation & balancing. However, they had experienced some bad karma during the thunderstorms Friday nite. The service bay door had been blown off its track or something and they were unable to open the door/clear the service bay.
They were able to access the tire changing/balancing machines (passing tires and wheels over and around several machines in for servicing) and did the install/balance for me.
Total cost for install/balance of two tires including taxes, tire recycling charges, etc was very reasonable
They could have told me to p*ss off and come back next week, but went the extra bit to keep this customer satisfied.
I thought that it was worth a mention, given the 'Did you buy the tires here?' attitude displayed by most local shops.

"The PSK store on Moodie has changed. It is now know as Gear Head and they now carry Aprilia, Moto guzzi, Piaggio, Vespa, Hyosung... It was a real pleasure to speak with one of the staff (Sheldon) there. They have a much nicer shop there now with more selection. I was looking at tires and they will give you 25% off of all in stock tires if you buy and have them mounted there. Mounting is done while you wait and if memory serves me correct it is like $35 to have the tire mounted and balanced if the rim is off the bike. As a bonus, if you are having service done there like an oil change or tire mounted, something that can be done right away, they have an Aprilia Tuono there as a demo and they may let you take it out for a ride. I say may because if you come in on a 250cc I don’t think they will let you take a 1000cc out for a ride.
All-in-all it was really nice to go into a store and be treated like a customer and not like another wallet to pilfer. I got the feeling when speaking to Sheldon that it didn’t matter if I purchased something right there and then, it would have been nice, but he now knows that if there is something I need I will be back simply based on the way I was treated that one time.
